To bring the Climate Care Program to Aotearoa New Zealand, we send thanks to our partners:
The New Zealand Veterinary Association (NZVA) – Te Pae Kīrehe – is the leading professional body representing veterinarians across Aotearoa. Established in 1923, the NZVA has a century-long legacy of supporting veterinary professionals through advocacy, education, and community engagement.
Guided by the principles of One Health, the NZVA recognises the interconnectedness of animal, human, and environmental wellbeing. Its vision is to foster a vibrant, diverse veterinary profession that plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the health of animals and their relationships with people and the environment.
The NZVA's mission is to build exceptional working lives for veterinary professionals by providing support, resources, and advocacy. Key strategic priorities include workforce sustainability, leadership development, and fostering collaboration within the profession. The association offers a range of services, including continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities, conferences, and access to clinical and non-clinical resources.
Embracing Te Ao Māori, the NZVA adopted the Māori name Te Pae Kīrehe in 2023 to reflect its commitment to inclusivity and cultural recognition. Through its initiatives, the NZVA continues to champion the veterinary profession's integral role in New Zealand's society and environment.
